Webinar Details

Participants will hear about two projects undertaken in consultation with NHA staff and guided by our research documenting successful efforts to attract more students to the humanities. The first is an initiative to revitalize a liberal arts core curriculum with an emphasis on experiential learning. The second is an effort to develop new applied humanities degree programs, building on existing offerings related to health. Project directors will share processes for identifying relevant resources and partners, strategies for aligning projects with institutional priorities to garner support, and protocols for facilitating collaborative, interdisciplinary program development processes. Participants will have opportunities to share about initiatives they are involved in or are considering during the discussion.

Panelists:

  • Amanda Chapman, Chair, Department of Language and Literature, Glenville State University
  • Kelley Kreitz, Interim Associate Provost of Academic Programs and Strategy, Pace University

Moderator:

  • Scott Muir, Director of Education Advocacy, National Humanities Alliance
